Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy is a process in which client and therapist work together to explore and understand the client’s distress.
It is based on the conviction that memories and feelings that were too difficult for the client to bear in the past were repressed and driven into the unconscious, from which they continue to exert a powerful influence on the client’s life.
The client and therapist work together to access and understand these hidden influences, so that a new and better understanding of long-standing difficulties can be achieved
Clients can avail of once or twice weekly psychotherapy. Generally there are two initial consultations during which the client and therapist will discuss the therapy and establish whether or not it is a suitable option for the client
